Small Art.
Your Materials.
Something Worth Keeping.
Simple stitches + fabric scraps = your story, made into meaningful small art pieces in under an hour on a tea bag.
Remember that box of fabric scraps you've been saving?
Those precious bits of your grandmother's apron or your child's first Halloween costume?
Now imagine incorporating those meaningful pieces into intimate works of art on a tea bag, each no bigger than your palm.
That's the magic of tea bag art β where every stitch and scrap carries a memory.
βοΈWhy Start with a Tea Bag?
There's something wonderfully approachable about a tea bag. It's small, familiar, and already full of character
It's a tiny canvas, which means there's less pressure and faster results
Each tea bag holds items that tell a story through pattern, fabric, and stitch
Plus, you're giving new life to something that would otherwise be tossed away.
Isn't that the best kind of starting point?

βοΈ The Five Course Modules
Part 1
Gather What You Have
You probably have all you need! In this module you'll gather the goodies already in your studio β fabric scraps, threads, buttons, bits of trim β and see just how much you already have to work with. No need to go out and buy a bunch of stuff.
Part 2
Layer Your Creative Home
Find your creative home. I use a sewing machine, and that's my process, but it doesn't have to be yours. I'll walk you through several options so you can choose the approach that feels right for the way you like to work.
Part 3
Stitch the Stitches
No complicated stitches here, just three basic, easy-to-follow embroidery stitches that add beautiful detail and definition to your tea bag. I'll show you exactly how to use them on both paper and fabric.
Part 4
Tell Your Story
This is my favorite part. You'll have a few fun options to choose from, and this is where the meaning really comes in. Take your heart straight to the tea bag art. This is where your piece becomes yours.
Part 5
Finish and Display Your Work
Now it's time to show off what you've made. I'll walk you through mounting and displaying your pieces on a small canvas, as a greeting card, in a journal, or as a gift someone will treasure.
π¦ What You'll Need
Worried you won't have the "right" supplies? You almost certainly do have them. I'm all about working with what you have; experimenting is half the fun. A printable list is included in the course.

Hi, I'm Carol Ann Webster.
I'm an artist who works in my studio space and does a lot from my spare bedroom.
I sew, I stitch, I mix media in journals, and I've spent years figuring out what unusual materials can do.
My mission has always been to make art achievable, the kind you can create at the kitchen table with what you already own and feel genuinely proud of when you're done.
Tea bag art is my favorite example of that, and Iβve been using them as tiny canvases since 2018. It can be completed in an hour, and it uses what you already have.
I'd love to share all of it with you.
