Do you love stitching, crafting, making small art?

Now’s the time to refresh your maker skills and express your creativity as never before using your art to tell stories.

And it starts with the humble tea bag.

Welcome to the Snippets Tea Bag Art 2.0 course where you can use a tea bag as a “canvas” to create a small and enchanting work of art.

Step 1: Make the marks

  • Would you make more small art if you started with simple marks and not a blank page?

  • Are you afraid of wasting your blank canvas by making a wrong mark that you can’t recover from?

  • By creating organic marks with rust or dye or paint, you have crossed that hurdle.

  • These marks are the beginning of a whole new story that you can tell on a tea bag.

  • Then you can add fabric scraps from your stash, add stitching, and add other embellishments that tell a story like no other: unique to you and your creative voice.

Why a tea bag?

Tea bags are a perfect base for this project as they absorb rust and color while creating a unique pattern of marks that can't be replicated. With a backing, they can withstand stitching, gluing, wrinkling, and ironing to create texture and dimension.

Plus, they are small enough to complete a project in a short amount of time. And you’ve saved one more thing from the landfill!

FAQ’s

Q: WHEN WILL I GET ACCESS TO THE COURSE?

A: After registration, all of the modules and lessons are immediately available to you online.

Q: HOW LONG WILL I HAVE ACCESS TO THE ONLINE COURSE?

A: You'll have access to the course for as long as my site is active.

Q: IS THIS COURSE ENTIRELY ONLINE?

A: The course modules are all online. But there is a Facebook group where you can get inspiration from other students or ask questions if you need help. I’m in there frequently.

Q HOW CAN I GET HELP IF I NEED IT?

A: Here’s the link to the group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/100leaves100days

I’m happy to answer any questions you have through email.

Q: WHY IS THE FACEBOOK GROUP CALLED “100 LEAVES 100 DAYS?”

A: When I started ecoprinting on paper in 2018, I set a challenge for myself of making 100 ecoprints in 100 days. I started a Facebook group of those who would like to join in my challenge. It has morphed into the group where Snippets students have joined and I’ve kept the name. Ecoprinting on paper is still part of the group’s interests.

Q: HOW MUCH ARTISTIC SKILL DO I NEED TO MAKE A “SNIPPET?”

A: You just need to be curious and willing to try to make a Snippet.

The skills are basic like gluing fabric, basic embroidery stitches, choosing embellishments from your stash, and choosing the colors and patterns you like to see together, again from your stash.
No drawing or painting skills needed.

This course is more about the choices you make as you go through the course. My goal is to show you my techniques and how to use them your way.
