I live in Oklahoma and the state flower is Gaillardia or Blanket Flower. When steamed, these flowers leave vary intense color. And because I use wet paper for steaming, all that color flows across the page which adds an abstract element to the piece.

Ecoprinting on paper for me is an exciting journey. You can’t ever be sure what the results will be right out of the steaming pot. But whatever result I get, I’m always thrilled and can’t wait to add whatever I think will elevate the piece to make it stunning.

I’ve mounted the ecoprinted paper to a cradle board that measures 4in x 4in x 1.5in.

I’ve applied a protective coat of acrylic to protect the paper and preserve the color. Although you shouldn’t expose it to direct sunlight.

The piece can stand on a shelf or it can hang on the wall using the attached ring.
