Cyanotype on a Tea Bag Keepsake
In-person Workshop

Saturday, July 25, 2026 - $97

Learn the magic of cyanotype while creating a finished textile collage you'll take home the same day.

You'll leave with both a finished artwork and the confidence to create more cyanotypes at home.

In this four-hour workshop, you'll learn how to create your own botanical cyanotype on a specially prepared tea bag using pressed flowers and sunlight.

Then we'll transform your cyanotype into a stitched 6in × 8in fabric collage using fabric, trim, beads, and simple embroidery.

What You'll Make

A 6in × 8in fabric collage featuring

  • a cyanotype tea bag printed with pressed flowers

  • hand stitching with embroidery floss and thread

  • beads and buttons for texture

  • layered fabrics and trim

  • a finished piece ready to frame or include in an art journal

  • build a layered fabric collage

  • machine stitch everything together for a finished piece

You'll learn how to make a cyanotype on a tea bag.

And

You'll leave with a finished framed-quality textile collage. Or a finished page for your fabric page journal.

Why tea bags?
Tea bag paper is surprisingly strong after it's treated and creates wonderfully detailed cyanotype prints. Once stitched into fabric, it becomes a beautiful surface for mixed-media art. It’s like a blend of paper and fabric.

Who I Am:

Carol Ann Webster in Studio

Hi, I’m Carol Ann Webster—the artist behind the Snippets Tea Bag Art Course.

I created this “Cyanotype on a Tea Bag” workshop because I’ve found that tea bag paper makes wonderful cyanotypes. Pair them with pressed and dried flowers and they make the most gorgeous images to stitch on.

If you have any questions, just send me an email at carol(at)carolannwebster.com—I’d be happy to hear from you.
