I started using these pages for the background of my mixed media art years ago. I wrote a post about where the pages came from here. It’s about how they belonged to my dad and I’ve kept them since he passed away in 1988.

Here’s an example of how I use these pages in my mixed media and collage art.

If you look closely, you can see the text behind the image. I like to start with the collaged paper instead of the blank surface. I hope this helps you too.
